An integral part of outpatient work is preparation of patients for surgical treatment, their post-surgery support, assistance and support in the selection of hormone replacement therapy and correction of endocrine status.
Fine-needle biopsy
Over 20,000 fine-needle biopsies of thyroid nodules are performed annually at Outpatient Department No 2. Fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNA) is the main diagnostic technique that makes it possible to find out whether this nodule is benign or malignant. The main goal of a biopsy is to save patients with thyroid nodules from unnecessary surgeries.
FNA is performed by highly qualified experts, exclusively with visual ultrasonic examination. During the procedure, an expert-level ultrasound scanner is used. After the biopsy, a cytological examination of the obtained biological material is performed. That makes it possible to determine the nature of the nodule. Only a cytological report can make it possible to answer the following questions:
- Is a surgery necessary?
- If the surgery is required, how radical will it be?
Our advantages
